PVC pipes hold a significant position in the plastic pipe market due to their mature industrial chain and stable raw material supply. As one of the earliest developed plastic pipes, PVC pipes are produced through the extrusion molding of polyvinyl chloride resin with stabilizers and lubricants. They exhibit excellent tensile and compressive strength, along with outstanding corrosion resistance and water tightness. However, with the development of PE and PP pipes and increasing performance requirements, PE and PP are challenging PVC's market dominance. After years of development and evolution, China's plastic pipe industry has gradually matured. Currently, a plastic pipe processing industry system represented by PVC, PE, and PP has been basically formed. In the 2018 production data, PVC pipes still held the leading position, accounting for 39% of total production. PE pipes followed closely with 38%, while PP pipes ranked third with a 14% share.
